Water testing

What we test for

At Guardians of the River Itchen, we test for E-coli, salinity, nitrates, nitrites, and temperature.

Where we test

We test in various areas across the Itchen and Monk's Brook, but in peticular, we test near Woodmill, St. Deny's Beach, Mansbridge, and Monk's Bridge.

Why we test

We test for the things mentioned above to prove that action needs to be taken to improve water quality, and that water companies are held responsible for the damages to our river that they cause every day. It is also useful to know what is going on in the river so that we know what to fix.
